Guest Blogger Nequisha: Plus Size OOTN - When life throws you curves, learn how to use them

Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Nequisha pronounced like Ne-key-sha, I am 27 years young and I live in New Bedford, Massachusetts. I have graduated from Bridgewater State University, with a degree in art for photography.  I met Ashley back in high school and have kept contact with her throughout the years and when she asked me to become a guest blogger on her website, I was super excited because we both have a love not only for Walking Dead but for comic book characters and  our fashion styles are similar yet different.

I have recently got into being comfortable and taking risks with fashion and been having fun with my ootds and ootns. Why you ask? Well throughout high school I was a thick yet an in shape girl that didn’t weight over 156 pounds, considering that I am 5’6 ½ in height I was thin. Then when I turned 20 my life turned upside down, with the death of my mother and then finding out that I had a thyroid condition, I ended up gaining a lot of weight. With the massive weight gain, I wasn’t comfortable in the clothes that I was wearing. So 2 years ago, I got sick of how I felt/looked so I decided to turn my life around by getting into boxing and embracing this gorgeous new curvaceous body of mine after losing weight.

I like to think of my style as fun, sassy, with a touch of va va voom lol…So lets break down my ootn.

The top for this outfit it a t-shirt that says I got 99 problems but my Curves ain’t one, which is exactly how I feel about my body now and a fun play on the Jay-Z song 99 problems. I received this top as a Christmas gift from a friend; she purchased this awesome shirt from Feminine Funk.com, they carry fun and sassy t-shirts with sayings on them for the plus size girl. The denim jacket is from Torrid that I got probably over a year ago. I like to put denim jackets with my outfits to break up all the cloth and fabric, probably is just some weird thing that I do I guess to justify wearing a denim jacket lol. Plus not only is the jacket fashionable, it is also practical because some Spring/Summer night gets chilly.

The pencil skirt is part of my sassy with a touch of va va voom element. It has faux leather triangular side panels on the front of the skirt that cross with the other fabric, which I feel give the skirt personality and not just a boring everyday plain black pencil skirt. I love this skirt cause it is a fun, flirty, tight but not too tight and short to show off the legs but not crazy short. I wore my hair up in a donut bun with a braid because there was enough going on with my shoulders. I also did not accessorize the outfit with a necklace so that the shirt be its own statement piece. Because my hair was off my shoulders I decided to wear hoop earrings, well to be honest I am just a sucker for hoop earrings and it helped bring a hip hop feeling to the outfit. I wore teal wedged heels because it matched the word curves in the shirt.

I bought these shoes from Charlotte Russe for only $10 on clearance! And I must say they are probably the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn on a night out. I am not really good with make up, so I usually just do a mascara to make my lashes look long and bring some attention to my eyes and I put a peach sparkly lip.

Here is a better look at the outfit:

Well I hope you guys liked my first Plus Size Outfit of the Night and that I did good enough to make an appearance on the blog soon
