Plus Size OOTD: Princess Leia Star Wars Dress from @HerUniverse

As most of you probably read in my last post, I had a Star Wars themed wedding shower, And of course I had to match my dress to the theme. (I mean what kind of person would I be if I didn't!). And there couldn't be a better dress than this Her Universe Princess Leia dress!

Now I have been eyeing this dress since last Christmas. It was a bit pricey at my hot topic, and I had no reason to get it. As soon as the girls told me the theme for the shower was Star Wars and I saw the dress was on clearance at Hot Topic AND I had Haute Cash, I took advantage. I am so happy I did, because the dress was PERFECT, and a big hit!

I have said this time and time again, Her Universe is my favorite line for geeky dresses and clothes because they cater to the plus size girls. I have so much from the brand, and this dress fits AMAZING. I was comfy in it all night, and I seriously love it. The dress has the perfect little hint of star wars to it, that unless you KNEW i was wearing a star wars dress, and knew what Leia wore in a New Hope, it just looks like a really fancy white dress. Which I like. I enjoyed that it doesn't scream that its a star wars dress, its still elegant. Perfect for my wedding shower.

I paired it with white sneakers (because I am me, and I wear sneakers whenever I can.) and a black and white darth vader bow, which I fell like sort of pulled it all together and maybe gave it a little more "oh its star wars!" feel to it. Everyone loved the dress, I got so many compliments, even from people just seeing pictures. Saying how great it looked on me, and what not. I am so glad I waited and got it on sale, and ended up with a dress I love!

Thank you guys for reading! Please follow my blog for more outfits, and other awesome things!

Plus Size Outfit - Quick Spring Look!

Sometimes I don;t plan to use an outfit for a blog post, and I end up liking them so I want to share with you guys. This is one of those times. Spring is here, and last weekend I had the rare Saturday off from work so I was just going to spend the day with my best friend, it wasn't anything fancy, but after throwing on clothes I thought to myself "i look cute today!" Funny thing is, I've worn this outfit a lot before, mostly last spring, but I have sort of felt like I am in a winter rut. Being forced to wear layser of jackets, I haven't had a lot of cute outfits lately, I think this one pulled me out of that rut because I have been pulling pieces of my closet and getting together some really cute outfits for the following weeks!

The outfit breakdown is simple, the leggings I got from a small local store, they are a bit thicker for leggins but worked great because it was a bit breezy, and hello pretty floral! The tee is from target, your just simple black v-neck, The denim button down which is a pretty staple in my spring wardrobe I got from Torrid a few summers ago, its comfy, light weight and I love it. And lastly to break up the fabrics I just wore my trusty boots and biker jacket both from torrid. It was sort of thrown together, quick look that actually was really cute. I was comfortable all day, it got a little warm so I took my jacket off, but when it got cooler at night I had the jacket to throw on. All and all well put together, cute and quick spring took!

Hope you guys enjoyed this quick outfit of the day, I might do more of these mixed in with my "set up my camera and take fancy pictures" outfits! What do you guys think? let me know!

Oh my god that new star wars teaser trailer!

Everyone!  the new teaser trailer for the Star Wars movie that came out.  So basically nothing else matters today right? Yes? Okay at least we are all on the same page.

If there is one movie I am most excited about, it has to be this. Star Wars has been a part of my life since as far back as I can remember, The little kid and adult in my is freaking out, so as soon as I was scrolling through facebook this afternoon and seen that little trailer pop up on my feed, I was basically like this -

Even through I knew I was home alone (THANK GOD because I have a feeling my fiance would look at me like I was crazy.) I looked around, and took a deep breathe because for whatever reason this scared me, and hit play. I don't think I ever had a more emotional 2 minutes of my life. But oh my god was it amazing.

As soon as Lucas films came on the screen and the music started to play then boom Luke's voice over, I was like this the whole time:

Then? The part that killed me, the part that almost made me fall off my chair -
"Chewie we're home."

that can be only decided by this:

It was just complete perfect, wrapped in awesome that gave that me goosebumps and just made me even more excited for this film. And of course after getting through the first time watching iti n total freak out mode, came re-watching it a ton of times to catch everything I missed. If this movie is anything like these teasers they keep giving us, holy crap I may need someone to hold my hand in the theaters com December.

Plus Size Outfit - Spring Grunge?

Hey everyone! Its been a little while since I had an Outfit to share with you all. The weather is getting warmer, and I can start bringing out my dresses, slowly. Which makes me very excited! So last week when it was fairly nice out and I head heading to the mall with one of my friends, I decided, its time to bring out my dresses! The dress I picked is from Torrid, I had bought it at the end of last Fall and never had a chance to wear it yet. It has this really awesome rib-cage bedazzled design on the front, and the back is cut up to look like a spine. (Which isn't pictured because it wasn't THAT warm yet) it is a pretty bad ass dress.

But since it was nice out, but a little wet from the morning rain, I put on a pair of leggings, these also being from Torrid, and my favorite pair. They remind me of Beetlejucie and I thought they complemented the dress nicely.  And lets face it, if I have a reason to wear these leggings, I will take it! I wore my moto boots, and my pleather jacket to add a bit  of a "badass" feel to the outfit. I also did my makeup a bit darker, to kind of give that "spring grunge" look I have been wearing lately.

And thats pretty much it! My sinple, but still bad-ass first spring outfit, that is mostly all black because lets face it, thats kind of how I roll most of the time. Hope you guys enjoyed, please follow my blog for more outfits and awesomnesss!!

Shut up and take my money! New Her Universe releases!!!

EVERYONE, stop what you are doing, Her Universe has new Star Wars dresses  and other awesome things coming out! Nothing else matters!

Now I was sitting on my break at work today, scrolling through facebook when I saw this blog post from the Her Universe. And this was my reaction:

Ashley Eckstein had been teasing us with little previews on twitter and instagram the last few weeks, and I was dying to see the whole collection, and boy am I super excited! These new items will be released at the Star Wars Celebration Anaheim  April 16th-19th and online that same weekend at Heruniverse.com (for more info check out the blog post). And I have been saving my money because boy is there a lot I want.

I love Her Universe as I have said in MANY Outfit Of the Day posts because they cater to us plus size gals, as well as offer fashionable geeky clothes for us who enjoy Star Wars, Doctor Who, Marvel,  Star Trek and other fandoms. I have turned many friends on to this brand, and all of them adore it as much as I do. What I love most about these new dresses, is the pin up style of them, which is RIGHT up my ally, So let me show you a few of my favorites and what I will for sure be picking up, either that weekend or soon after from the website! Are you ready for awesomeness? Brace yourselves.

First of are these two pin-up style dresses with Cloud City and Hoth, tell me those aren't beautiful? I can't get over them and I need them in my life. As well as that X-Wing cardigan which I think would look adorable with both dresses!

Next on the must have list is this light saber skirt, LOOK AT IT, its seriously the coolest skirt I have seen since the Tardis skirt I own from Her Universe, I love the Star Wars shirt that shes wearing in it, but since I have a budget I may pass on it FOR NOW, that will be a later purchase down the line. I love this skirt, and I already have an outfit in my head that I need to do with it.

Next is something a little more casual, but I love it, I think its kind of different from other sweaters I own, and I am sort of a sucker for anything grey and sweater-like, so this is up there on my must have list. I mean who doesn't love a comfy sweater?

Now this is another reason why I love Her Universe, they don't just make cute clothes for us adults, they make cute clothes for those nerdy little girls. Where was this place when I was 5 and in need of an adorable star wars dress?!  This last thing, I love not for myself, but for my god daughter. As soon as I saw this I sent the link to my best friend and simply said "SHE NEEDS THIS DRESS WHEN SHE GETS BIGGER, IM BUYING HER IT!" Now it may be awhile because she can fit into it, but might as well start her future wardrobe out right with this adorable kids Star Wars dress right?

As you can see I am super excited for these new items, and I can't wait to get them and share some amazing outfits with you guys. I really wish Her Universe was around when I was younger so that I wasn't afraid to show my nerdy side and love of star wars, but it makes me happy that younger girls now have that chance.

Check out the blog post I linked above for more releases, These are just a few of my favorites. Are you guys looking forward to any of these? Let me know!

Plus Size Outfit - Holiday Sweater Edition

Hey everyone! I hope you are having an awesome holiday season! I know its that time of year where everyone gets fancy and goes to parties, and all of that fun stuff, So I wanted to share with you all a few of my holiday outfits. So today's outfit is what I wore to Friendsmas! Which is when  myself and my best friends get together, exchange gifts, hang around and share embarrassing stories, and just have a good time. We try to do this every year. Its not super fancy, its mostly casual, but lets be seriously here, if you need an excuse to get a new outfit, a holiday party is that reason. So my outfit for this party was kind of casual, but all sorts of cute. With the best part of the outfit, the penguin sweater.

Now I found this sweater at a store in my local mall called Payhalf (im not sure if this store is everywhere) they carry a small plus size section and I go in there sometimes to see what they carry. I was shocked to see this cute little sweater with a penguin, wearing a sweater, I couldn't pass it up, I have been collecting all things penguins since I was a kid, and this little guy looked damn cute in his sweater!

I wanted to do something different than sweater and jeans, and I fiddled with a bunch of different ideas, some made me look like a sack of potatoes, and well that happens. Others were just MEH but this one? I felt worked the best. I used my black tripp skirt from Torrid I got a while back, which flowed right. I paired that with my poka-dot tights from torrid, which again I felt pulled everything together. Rather than boots I used my trusty black flats, and boom, outfit is complete!

Outfit Details:

Penguin Sweater - Payhalf (no link sorry guys)
Skirt - Torrid
Tights - Torrid (no longer online)
Flats - Target (ages ago)

I hope you guys enjoyed this outfit! I love sharing these with you, and I hope you all have a great holiday! Look out for more outfits coming for new years and maybe ill share my Christmas outfit (tho it will include my snowflake sweater ive already shown!)

Plus Size Outfit: Rollerdurby Batgirl

If there is one character I love more than others, well Batgirl would be my #2 (under Harley Quinn ofcorse) There is just something awesome about Babs that I love so much. So when I saw Teefury had this RollerGirl Batgirl shirt up for the day, I HAD to have it. What I love about Teefury is they have cheap (but awesome) tshrits out for 24hours, and the feature awesome artists and most of the time are very different tshirts that you may not find at like hottopic. What I dislike is this shirt took over 2 weeks to get to me! But regardless as soon as I bought it, I had this outfit in mind.

I am always looking for ways to wear graphic tee's that are more dressed up, and this way is one of my favorites, the skirt I got from Torrid, it is a little longer which normally I would hate, but I love it with this. I also love it for the colder months because its thicker. I was very worm with this, and the day I wore the skirt it was rainy and cold. Under the skirt I wore my bat symbol leggings, (which you can't really see) but when they peaked out they added to the outfit and kept me warm. My boots from Torrid went great with this, they are pretty much a staple in my winter clothing. I love them.

I threw on my trusted moto jacket, and when I went outside I had a hoodie underneath it, I was very comfortable, and warm. A lot of people complemented me on the outfit (i went Christmas shopping this day) telling me how cute and very put together the outfit looked and warm! I loved every part of it. For my makeup I kept it kind of smudgey with a dark lip, (i have a video for it on my youtube) but I really loved every part of this outfit, and I love finding ways to wear a graphic tee.

Outfit Break down:
Teeshirt - Teefury
Skirt - Torrid
Jacket - Torrid (they dont carry mine anymore but here is one like it)
Boots - Torrid
Leggings - Forever 21 (not made anymore but check ebay)

Plus Size Outfit: Skulls and Snowflakes!

Hey guys! I am so excited to share with you my new favorite outfit! I wore this on Thanksgiving, and its featuring sweater I bought from Torrid, its super comfy and it has this awesome very festive snowflake print, but whats so awesome about it? It has SKULLS in it too! At first glance it just looks like a normal Christmas/winter sweater, but then, you see the skulls! Its perfect for my style. I can still be very festive with out losing my own little touch! Its super comfy, and warm, I didn't even need a jacket when I wore it because this kept me warm enough! I will get a tone of use out of it this winter!

I kept it simple with everything else, black jeggings (from target) with a simple black vneck. I would of used a colored vneck but I could only find my black at the time. I didn't want to pair it with anything that would take away from the awesomnesss of the sweater, and I really have no issue wearing all black.

I kept my makeup simple as well as my hair, but I could of also really dressed this up if i wanted to (and i will for another christmas party for sure!)

Hope you guys enjoyed this outfit of the day! Follow my blog for more outfits! and Dont forget to follow my youtube channel!!

Plus Size Outfit "ch..ch..ch.. ha..ha...ha"

Points if you get why I tittled this OOTD "chchch hahaha"

We all know I am a huge horror nerd, my boyfriend and I are obsessed with horror movies and this time of year is my favorite.   Last weekend I had gone to a local horror convention here in Massachusetts called Rock and Shock, it was pretty awesome, and I got to meet a ton of awesome people, (even faced my biggest fear since I was 5, CHUCKY! AH!) No really, it was a great time, I even got to meet on of the people who is to blame for my zombie obsession starting from a very young age, Tom Savini. So I wanted to put together an outfit for the day, and not just wear one of my many (and i mean that MANY) horror movie tee's. So this is the outfit I put together,

Recently I had picked up this Friday the 13th tshirt from Old Navy, I loved it, even though its am guys tee, it runs long and my so I can wear it with leggings, and the fact Kane Hodder was going to be there, I wanted to share my love of Jason, so I picked this shirt. I paired it with my favorite pair of stripped leggings (or as I like to call it Beetlejuice leggings), and my very comfy and awesome studded cardigan (both from torrid). Because I was going to be walking around all day I wore my very comfy but still badass boots, and just did very little makeup. with a plum lip, and that was pretty much my outfit, Comfy but very awesome for any horror fan.

Best part about it, when we met Kane Hodder he told me he liked my shirt. Granted most likely says that to anyone who wears a Jason or Hatchet shirt when meeting him, but he was a pretty awesome guy!

If you guys want to see more pictures from Rock and Shock as well as me meeting Chucky himself, check out my vlog bellow, it was a great time, and it was great to see my boyfriend nerd out with me.

Plus Size Outfit Rebel Alliance Badass

Hello everyone! Todays outfit of the day is very badass, thats how I like to describe it. I am pretty much obsessed with my Her Universe Rebel Alliance shirt and wanted to find cute ways to rock it, so there came this outfit! My boyfriend called it "Badass Geek Chic" which I found adorable.  I was going out for lunch with a friend, and then later on going for drinks with my boyfriend and a few people, so I wanted something that could be worn for lunch and then later on. And this is what I got

First off the best part of this outfit is my Her Universe Rebel Alliance shirt. Its no surprise I love it because well I rock Her Universe all the time, and its Star Wars. It comes in plus sizes, which is freaking amazing and was $19.99 on thinkgeek. I had to have it, and I have worn it non-stop every since. Its very comfortable, and soft, Basically why I wear it whenever I can.

So planning this outfit I wanted something a bit girlie, but also badass, not just your normal jeans and tee kind of deal, so I pulled this outfit today, and I like it a lot. I paired the shirt with a pencil skirt I got from forever21+ this bad boy was $8 and its SO NICE, its not cheaply made, it fits AMAZING, and it sort of helps cover up any tummy issues. So its seriously an amazing skirt. I wore it a bit highwasted and it worked really well with the shirt.

I grabed a pair of tights also from forever21+ with pokodots on it, just to kind of break up the black, and I paried it with my moto boots from Torrid, and my biker jacket also from Torrid (which I am again IN LOVE WITH) I know its a lot of black, but really I wear a lot of black and it doesn't bother me. I feel sort of like I am channeling my inner Joan Jett here, and I feel like I should go sing "I love rock and roll" at Karaoke.

Hope you guys enjoyed my outfit of the day! follow my blog for more outfits and geeky things!!

Kelly Osbourne Stories early preview!!

Now I have posted on here saying Kelly is releasing her clothing line on the 25th, but today she posted on her social networks the "Surprise! You can shop some of my Stories by Kelly Osbourne favorites before my Thursday #hsn live launch!" And let me tell you I raced to the HSN website to get a sneak peak, check out prices, etc, etc. So here are a few of my favorites that she "released early" along with the prices, they do run a bit pricey, but I guess for the fact they do go to higher sizes, they run roughly the same as if you were shopping at say Torrid. Anyways! Onto the good stuff!

The first thing that caught my eye is this printed shirtdress ($79.99) it comes in two designs right now, (for kellys favorites) and my personal favorite was this pokadot one! Its super cute and girlie.

Then there is her graphic tees (49.99 HOLY CRAP EXPENSIVE) the one i liked so far was the CHAPTER ONE tee that she has been rocking in a lot of promo pictures, its the one I can see being worn most, and easily paired with more things. But the price tag for a graphic tee is  BIT MUCH.

Then there was this distressed print dress (79.99) that I found really cute and kind of edgey, can so see it paired with a moto jacket and boots (because lets face it I DONT WEAR HEELS), it can be dressed up or down, very cute.

Lastly out of the little preview of Kelly's favorites was this blouse, (64.90) which again is a bit pricey for a top, but it is very cute, but I really want those pants, why aren't those pants on the website yet??!!

So those are my favorites from Kelly's favorites from Stories...! Have you guys checked it out yet? what ones to you love? hate? let me know! I will do a full blog post on the whole line as soon as it it released on the site! Thanks for reading!

Here is the link to her line on HSN!

My Top Style Icon - Kelly Osbourne

I don't think my style icons series would be complete if I didn't do Kelly O. She has played a big part of my fashion choices as well as my life for the last 10-11 years. Its a funny story really, I didn't start out looking up to Kelly for all my fashion tips, I remember it was one day sophomore year of high school, when I just cut my hair into a pixie cut, someone looked at me and said "you look like that girl, Ozzies daughter! you could be twins!" and thats when it started. At first I pulled my angsty teen "i am not one but myself" crap and hated it whenever someone said it, (the Osbournes has just become a big hit then, so I heard it A LOT) until I actually say down and watched, and I was shocked to see, she was just like me.

My Top Style Icon Series - Buffy Summers

Everyone has style icons, if its an actress, a model, singer, people that at some point in their life has shaped their style, pulled inspiration from their style, and just all around inspire them in different ways to express themselves, at least that's how it was for me.

Even though a good part of my childhood I wanted to be a spice girl, most of my style icons, were people on tv shows, movies and even comic books and cartoons. I have shown it recently in some OOTD's, but I wanted to make a list, I sat here thinking, "Can I do a top 5? top 10? How can I do this?" But then I thought, every person on my list had inspired me in many ways, if it was a stage in my life, or helped make me into the person I am today. I have had a pretty big list of females I looked up to in fashion and even just in my daily life.

So I decided to give each person their own post. Because some of them are characters, from tv shows, movies, cartoons. Some of them are actual people, so rather than make it one long post, I wanted to give each one its own spot light, and thats where this starts. So today, I focus on one of my first "style icons" Buffy Summers, yes the Slayer herself. Be prepared, there are some young pictures of yours truely about to be shared, you have been warned.

Being a kid in the late 90's I fell in love with Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It was actually the first fandom I got myself into. Things like Star Wars and Batman I sorta fell into because my cousins, or dad watched. But Buffy was my own thing. Which is why I think till this day it sort of sits special with me. It was my thing, when Buffy came on I watched it (soon my mom got into it and would watch it with me) and it was the first big series I watched from start to finish. And I wanted to be Buffy Summers.

I was really a tomboy as a kid, having mostly boy cousins, I didn't really want to be super girly. My hair was really long and kept int a pony tail most of the time, and the  summer before junior high my dad told me he'd take me to get a real hair cut, anything I wanted as long as it would make me feel pretty. It was his way of helping me break out of my shy shell and feel more grown up hitting the 7th grade. What did I do? Well I wanted my hair cut like Buffy had it in season two. (at the time was the season that just ended) So I found a picture which was in Teen Beat (i remember this so clearly) of that hair cut, and I got my first real hair style. I cut off all of my hair, which was a big deal. And I cried, happy tears because I felt so pretty. And I was so happy. Sure i wasn't Buffy Summers, but hey maybe I could find myself an Angel. A tween could dream!

Through out Jr high my mom started catching on, if it was something related to Buffy in an outfit I would wear it. It was her way of getting me to wear "girlie" clothes. I tease her till this day that she would watch all tapes I would record of all the episodes  (yes i was that obsessed I recorded them every week) to get ideas for outfits so I could break out of my baggy jeans and t-shirt phase. And it worked. I wish I had more pictures of it, I went looking for my 7th grade photo where I have the buffy hair cut, and a silmiar ourtfit she got me of an outfit buffy wore while training with Giles (it was a cranberry hoodie and pants with a black tank top). She has it so if I get it soon i'll edit the post with it here, until then, we have this gem....

Its kind of a shock now, but I HATED wearing dresses, HATED it. You couldn't pay me to wear a dress, that is where I drew my line. But my mom, in all of her awesomeness was on a mission, she wanted me to wear a dress, my mom found a dress that was like it and had one of our family friends fix the dress, so  that was just like the dress Buffy wore to homecoming. I told her if I could have that dress I would wear it. She wouldn't let me wear the jacket, as much as I pleaded, and it was a no no to the cross bow, but I got my Buffy dress, and my mom got pictures of me in a dress. We even took a picture to the hair stylist of buffy's hair from that ep and had my hair done like that for my night. I was happy and my mom was happy. And I have a awesome story of the time my mom got me a dress like Buffy Summers. And she was really the first person I watned to dress up as and be like. She was sort of the reason my style changed from tom boy, to a bit more girlie. And pretty much why I wanted her to be the first part of my style icons and get her own post, because it was a big part of my life, and got me through a big change.

I hope you guys enjoyed this, and look foward to who is next on my list! Can you guess who else is on my list? It may be a shocker!

Thanks for reading!
