5 Things You Should Never Say to Someone with Funky Colored Hair

So the other day while I was on the bus, just sitting there on my way to work minding my own business listening to The Clash, a lady ran her fingers through my hair, and simply said "ohhh its so pretty". Over the course of the last 14 years of my life (i am 26) that I have been dying my hair bright colors, I have experienced some crazy things. 

Today some girl ran down the street just to tell me she loved the color of my hair and wanted to know what I use. That I don't mind. What I mind is the rude, close minded, even crazy comments some people give when they see me. Now I don't always have "funky" colored hair, but for the most part of my life I have. And so do a lot of people I know, and a lot of discussions have happened lately since I tweeted about my experience and posted it on instagram. SO because of that, I decided to make a list of the top 5 things you should never say to someone with "funky" colored hair. This is purely for amusement, and I used some silly gifs to go along with it, if you have any of your own please feel free to comment below and I will add it to the list!  I hope you guys enjoy! 1. CAN I TOUCH IT?!

I get it, its bright, its calling your attention, but just because my hair is some bright shade of purple. teal, magenta, orange, green, blue, whatever, doesn't give you an open invitation to run your hands through my hair, tug my hair, rub my hair, or anything else involve your hands, on me. And please don't tell me "you have bright hair you are asking for it." No I am not, I didn't dye my hair this color just so you could touch it, thanks.

2. IS THAT YOUR REAL HAIR COLOR?

I know this one seems kind of crazy, but this is the most conman and also the most funny, and ironic enough I never get this question when I have red hair, no its when I have teal hair, or purple hair. Like the other day while riding the bus some guy tapped me on my shoulder and asked if that was my natural hair color, I chuckled because I really thought it was a joke, but then realized it wasn't.

3. ISN'T YOUR HAIR GOING TO FALL OUT?

This is the most annoying, to me anyways. Just because I have "crazy colored hair" doesn't mean its damaged. In fact my hair is quite healthy thanks! 

4.YOU LOOK LIKE A (MUPPET, TROLL DOLL, PURPLE PEOPLE EATER, etc, etc..)

Ok first off, complete stranger who I never met before, do you go around calling random people you just met a Muppet? Seriously? Pretty sure I didn't dye my hair this to please you, I did it because I wanted to make myself look pretty. and Dammit I think I look good so you know what? I am a sassy and amazing troll doll thanks! 

5. WHY DON'T YOU DYE YOUR HAIR A NORMAL COLOR?

Hahahaha, ok. Thanks I will get right on that. I have been dying my hair these colors for so long, this is my "normal" hair color. I feel more like myself with purple hair than I do with whatever color my natural hair color is. And I know tons of other people like me, who feel like same way. So thanks for the advice but I think I will stick with my normal, not yours!
