Hello everyone! I have been enjoying the warmer weather lately, mostly because I can do things like wear dresses more often! Which is why I have this outfit to share with you guys today. I have been on the hunt for a daisy dress for some time now. Maybe its my inner 90's kid that remembers having one, but I have seen them "back in fashion" again and I knew, I had to find one.
This outfit, with the dress that sorta screams 90's, I pulled a lot of inspiration from one of my 90's fashion icons, Blossom! You guys remember that show right? It has Joey Lawrence famous like "WOOOAH!" Yeah well in the 90's I loved that show, maybe it was because whenever I would talk (and if you met me in person you'd know I talk kinda fast) everyone would go "YOU REMIND ME OF SIX FROM THAT, SHOW, WITH THE GIRL BLOSSOM!" Heck now I still love that show (season 1, and 2 are in my dvd collection currently).
But anyways, I knew I had to bull some kind of Blossom themed outfit out of this. So I took the daisy dress that I scored from walmart (a rare find, i really rarely buy a lot of clothes there), which I am shocked I found, I had looked everywhere else, even forever 21 had a few, but they ran WAY to short and I wasn't going to wear that. Or they were way to long and because I am a short girl, kind of didn't flatter me. So when I spotted this one, it was a light weight fabric perfect for summer, fit me well, and flattered my figure? I had to buy it, and I am glaad I did.
I paired it with my denim chambray from torrid. which we all know by now is a staple in my closet, because it goes with tons of outfits. Added my black tennis shoes, which I know I could of worn flats, but i figured this was more Blossom-ish and it was comfortable! Paired it with my favorite pair of sunnies and boom I am done! I was torn between wearing a hat or not, because lets face it, she was known for wearing her hats, but I was having a good hair day, and I didn't want to cover that up!
So there we have it! My Blossom inspired summer outfit! I love it, and it felt pretty in it. It was light enough, and yet practical if it got cooler later on, it was comfy, and damn cute!
Do you guys have any style icons from the 90's you love? Let me know in the comments! Thanks for reading!
-Ashley
