Plus Size Outfit Retro Anchors and Mermaids

Last weekend (I know I am late on this post) was my best friends baby shower. I could of worn any one of the 20 dresses I own, but I wanted something new. I mean really anyone likes to find an excuse to buy a new dress, but I just didn't want to wear something I already had, I wanted to feel pretty and sorta match her theme (in my own little way). Now before you ask, her theme was nautical. So my goal was either a beachy dress, of something that had parts of the theme in it, seems easy right? Yeah not to much. After awhile of searching and if somewhere had what I wanted, it wasn't in my size, I saw this gem on Torrid's website, anchors, mermaids, teal and blue, it was perfect, yes even with the skulls, that add a touch of my own style. I was sold! I had my dress!

Now as I mentioned before I completely loved the dress, it has a retro vibe to it, sorta a twist on a 50's swing dress (its actually listed as a swing dress on torrids website) the fabirc is thin enough so it could be worn in the summer, and not be totally sweating in it. And I just loved the color and all the patterns on it. I like how its cinched at the bust line, so it is really flattered and all around its a great dress. Def not somthing I would wear just once. The pattern its self is so busy, I didn't want to take away from it, so I pair it with a few simple pieces.

At first I wasn't going to wear a cardigan over this, if it was warm enough I could just go with it alone, But the day called for rain and I knew the hall would be a bit cooler, so I brought my trusty black one along, I wanted to pair something witth the color of the dress, since my hair brought out the purple, I pined it back with a teal/blue flower I had, and always forget to wear with things. I swept my hair to one side, because that seems to be the style I dig lately, and I kept it simple with the shoes and just paired it with my black flats. I would be comfortable, but still look damn cute. I adored this outfit! I kept the makeup simple also, mostly because I was in a rush to get ready and I didn't want to fus around with it between doing things. So that is my finished outfit. I got complements on it all day from various people, It was great.

Well thats it! My outfit from last weekend! Hope you guys enjoy and I will see you in my next blog post!
