This past week Eric and I headed up to Boston to see Dropkick Murphys, rather than come back the same day we decided to make a trip out of it. It had been awhile since we've been up to Boston, we try to go a few times a year but this past year was a bit rough so it had been awhile.
The weather was a bit crazy, first snowing, then really windy, and on Friday it was in the 50's after being in the low 20's. So I tried to plan my outfits around the weather, but still look cute, yet be comfy because we were going to be doing a lot of walking.
When we first got into the city it was snowing and flipping cold, so we did a little shopping and adventuring around the city until we had to check into our our hotel. Regardless of the cold it was still fun since we both haven't been in the city for awhile.
Once we got to our hotel, grabbed some dinner I changed for the show. For those of you who have known me for awhile you know I have deep punk rock roots. Since I was a young teen my style had always been bit more "edgey" (even if i hate that word) and I have always loved punk music (my favorite band of all time being The Clash) so I decided add a little punk rock to my outfit for the night, but sort of make it a bit more grown up.
My hair was a mess from the wind so I pulled it back with a bandanna, a hair style i did quit a bit in my teens but haven't really done in forever. I forgot how much I enjoyed it. (though at the time it was used to hide my mohawk when I didn't feel like putting it up) I added my favorite Social D shirt I bought from torrid a month ago, threw on my trusty chucks, and a pair of skinny jeans, my fake leather jacket. some simple makeup and a red lip and boom ready for the show! It was comfy, and cute, and Eric loved it.,
The show was amazing, Dropkick being in my top 5 favorite bands its always great to see them play, esp one of their St Patrick's Day shows (this year being 5 shows). They put on a fantastic show of both old and new songs, Eric had a blast (dropkick is his favorite band), we drank and danced, it was just a total blast! If you ever get a chance to see Dropkick, you should. This was my 5th time seeing them since I was a teenager, and I never regret a show.
The next day it was BEAUTIFUL out, a perfect spring day and I big change from the snow and cold the day before. I didn't want to pack a ton of clothes so I just had on my trusty star wars tee, spiked cardigan, skinny jeans and converse, and because I rediscovered how much I loved my hair pulled back in a bandanna I did that again. Simple, comfy, yet cute and ready for the days adventures!
Our day started wen we handed to Faneuil Hall for lunch and to check out the Body Words exhibit, which was really cool, very educational and just super awesome to see all the different things to do with the body and has chemically preserved body parts, just super neat and very cool to see all the different things. We did some shopping and I might of dragged eric into the macy's at downtown crossing so I could check out inglot, but it was a blast, a good little get away from our everyday life.
Hope you guys had an awesome week, I wanted to share my little trip and outfits with you all, let me know if you like these kinds of posts!
